The last few days have been spent at a Leaders Retreat for all the corps/centre leaders here in Latvia. The key themes were Transformation and Reconciliation and God has really spoken to all the leaders about this subject, myself included.
One thing that leapt out at me was a quote from Catherine Booth:
If we are to better the future we must disturb the present!
This insight from a true disciple of Jesus sparked a throught process in me. What am I doing to disturb the present? Are my actions disturbing the present in the correct way? When I impact on people’s lives does the Spirit work through me to create a better future, or do I allow our enemy to gain the upper hand?
The fact is that all too often I know that the enemy wins through my responses to situations, and I repent of my sin! I repent of the fact that through me people have not been strengthened but instead have been weakened! Once again I hand myself over to the Lord and say “not my will, but yours be done!”
