As you can see I have a new design for the blog! The details are in links at the bottom of the page if you want to know more, but I’d be interested to hear what you think. Did you prefer the old site design or do you like this one?
One thing, a big apology to everyone using Internet Explorer to surf into this blog. It was only when Zoe got home today and mentioned the big orange Firefox advert that I realised it was even there. I have deleted the offending item from the relevant file and you should now have no such banner across the site! Should have checked it in more than one browser!
It seems that this winter has decided that it isn’t going to turn up in Latvia. Apart from an extremely early snowfall and dip in temperatures, the weather here has been extraordinarily mild throughout November and December, and this seems to be carrying on into January as well. This is not good news for those people who are visiting us over the next couple of months as one of the reasons they are coming is to have a Latvian winter experience.
Whether the cause is global warming, El Nino or simply that the winter has decided to give us a reminder of what British winters are like, I have no idea. However, instead of the usual snow, frozen sea and sub-zero temperatures we’ve got grey, miserable, drizzly days.
Bit depressing really!
